Apostolic Foundation and Governance Mandate
Titus opens with Paul’s apostolic identity and the theological foundation for the stabilization work in Crete. Paul frames his service as advancing the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of truth that accords with godliness. Eternal life rests on the promise of the God who does not lie, and the message has now been made evident through entrusted preaching. This movement establishes the authority, purpose, truth, hope, and common faith that govern the whole letter.
