Jeremiah opens with the prophet’s appointment, the framing of his conflict, and the first waves of covenant accusation against Judah. The LORD recalls first love, exposes political and religious infidelity, unmasks false repentance, calls for return, diagnoses the incurable heart, announces disaster from the north, searches Jerusalem for justice, and ends the opening zone with siege warning, refused repentance, and rejected silver.
